Greece ready to share experience in use of alternative energy sources with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Gulmammad Javadov met Thursday the Greek ambassador to Azerbaijan Ioannis Metaxas to discuss prospect for further cooperation.
During the meeting, Azeri Deputy Minister spoke about the importance of conducting of such meetings, saying the dynamical development of ties between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy and others are result of such meetings.

In his turn, Greek ambassador said Greece is keen on bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijani in all fields and stands ready to share experience with Azerbaijan in regard with alternative and renewable energy.

According to Metaxas, Greece has a number of investment projects abroad and investments in these projects exceed $20 billion.

Speaking about the investment plans of Greece in Azerbaijan, Mr. Metaxas noted the importance of developing relations between the business people of both countries.

He also noted that there are great opportunities for closer cooperation between the Greek and Azerbaijan consulting companies.

The Greek side proposed to hold the next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Greek inter-governmental commission in May 2010, Metaxas said at the meeting.

The sides also discussed the issues of mutual interests.
