LG to explore Kazakh oilfield

South Korean trading house LG International will begin exploring an oilfield in Kazakhstan next month, the company said in a regulatory filing.

LG International will cover 50% of the exploration cost for the next three years in the Egizkara oilfield, near the Caspian Sea, a company official told Reuters. He declined to give details on the cost.

Drilling is to begin early next year at the field, which is estimated to hold 200 million barrels of probable oil reserves, the official added. Upstream
