SBS and ESM monitor fishing vessels in Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea

Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS) and Emergency Situations Ministry monitored the shipping vessels in the Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea from July 8 through 16 in order to investigate the situation.

As APA reports, 14 various kinds of fishing vessels were stopped and monitored. Irregularities and shortcomings were found in 10 vessels and the facts were documented.

In 2 cases the captain was absent in the vessel, in one case 5 stowaways were found, in seven cases there were no radiogram journal and fishing license.

While monitoring 4 motorboats it was found out that their side registration number and rescue facilities.

4 000 meters long fishing net, 1500 meters of fishing rods, 25 anchors were seized during the monitoring. 987 grams of quicksilver were found in a pot in the sea.

All the facts are under investigation.
