OECD promotes Azerbaijan's medium and long term credit rating

04 July 2006 [09:25] - TODAY.AZ
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) estimated Azerbaijan's risk level on long and medium term credits by 5 points.

This organization determines world countries' risk level on long and medium term credits every year and it included Azerbaijan in its list in 1996 and determined Azerbaijan’s rating by 6points in 2001 and this rating remained unchanged.

As APA reports, the Ministry informed OECD member states, credit agencies of positive development in the economy and conducted discussions on promotion of Azerbaijan's rating.

As a result, risk level of Azerbaijan on long and medium term credits shifted from 6 to 5 at the meeting of OECD member states export credit agencies in June, 2006.

At present Azerbaijan and Turkey has the same rating.

Now decrease of risk level enables Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to get credits from OECD countries’ finance institutions under more efficient conditions.

This is also the indicator of increasing reputation of Azerbaijan in the international arena and increasing trust in Azerbaijan.

OECD was established in 1961 its secretariat is situated in Paris and it has 30 members now.
