Agricultural development strategy for 2007-2015

26 May 2006 [09:24] - TODAY.AZ
The Ministry of Agriculture will make 2007-2015 strategy for the solution of agricultural problems and for development of this field.

There is a special commission established in the ministry too. Ismat Abbasov, the Agriculture Minister, APA reports.

He has informed about increase in agrarian production. It results in decrease in imported products.

"We begin to decrease import products. But we also do not intend to disturb those who want to make a business. No limitation is justified here – anyone who can stand a competition may make import."

Mr. Abbasov has stated that some product prices may go on advance because farmers have not been reimbursed after price of diesel had rose. Farmers can not be reproached then.

"Increase in products' prices may be observed in the same percentage as increase rate in fuel prices since it has a percentage in a product’s price. Rate of fuel costs in cotton production is 14,5%, the most percentage. Generally, average rate of fuel costs in agricultural products is 7,2-7,3%."

Reminding Cabinet of Ministers license rules confirmed last year, Mr. Abbasov has added that enactment of new rules does not mean the elimination of previous ones. Licenses are given for 5 years as before. The enterprises holding licenses allowing alcohol production must show their brand codes, production volume and follow other rules. The Minister made complaints about incomplete efficiency of fight against illegal alcohol producers too.

"While we raid this company, another one closes its doors. If it goes on like this, we will put a stricter task before the Government to deal with it."
