12 May 2006 [08:56] - TODAY.AZ
Agreement protocol on installation of Chinese automobiles in Azerbaijan has today been signed between Lifan Company, China and Ganja Automobile Plant (GAP) on GAP premises.

As APA reports, installation of Lifan-520 automobiles in GAP will start in 30-35 days. Chinese experts have already arrived in Ganja. They also visited GAP and they think it has good conditions for automobile production. GAP has a large area.

After signing the document, Sun Tzsetzun, Lifan Marketing Department Chief, said that GAZ owns professional and competent staff working there and it would be possible to make an automobile of any model with them.

Mr. Tzsetzun noticed plant's suitable transport communications for the development of auto industry. The experts have already sent the technical parameters of the plant for calculations that have also been started. As Mr. Tzsetzun says, Lifan will help GAP in modernization of technologies in the plant if needed.

Khanlar Fatiyev, Head of Plant, talked about negotiations with several companies of China, Turkey and some other countries on modernization. Talking of Azeri auto market, Chinese experts have said that Lifan-520 cars are quite competitive.

"Chinese cars to be installed in GAP do not lag behind other cars demanded today in local market. The most important thing is that Chinese automobiles' sale prices are affordable by most of the people."

Touching terms of agreement, Tzsetzun said added that Lifan auto parts are expected to be made in GAP in the future and these issues are now been researched. He also said that the plant has all necessary conditions for that.

Finally, Mr. Fatiyev said that Gan Gan Company representatives, another Chinese partner, are expected to come to GAP on May, 18-19. They will get close look at plant and research local auto market in Azerbaijan during their visit.
