Increase of diesel fuel caused fall of grain-growing in Zagatala

From beginning of this year, increase of fuel twice had made impact on agricultural development in Zagatala.

Agricultural field working with diesel fuel have stopped their seasonal works. Sowing area in villages are used as pastures. Some farmers have directed economy fields to other sectors. Cultivating of corn has decreased 30%.

Region Executive Power department chief on agrarian issues Elman Ramazanov has informed Sheki-Zagatala bureau of APA that last year 10500 hectare area was under cultivation, this figure having decreased 30% become 7500 hectare.

According to Ramazanov, farmers see way out of the situation in sector changes. Some farmers already making changes in economy field, they have substitute grain-growing with husbandry and hazel-nut growing.

This year new hazel-nut forests have been planted in 100 hectare area and cattle-breeding has been accelerated. Some specialists explain changes in agriculture with increase of nut, diary and meat products.
