Azeri government spends about $800,000 on struggle with Bird flu

"The Azerbaijani government spent around $800,000 on the work in the framework of the struggle with Bird flu," Ismayil Hassanov, the Head of the State Veterinary Service under the Agriculture Ministry, said on Tuesday.

As Trend reports, the funds were spent on purchase of equipment, transport and other things necessary within the struggle with the virus. As to allocation of money by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank to prevent spreading of the virus in Azerbaijan, the Head of the Veterinary Service underlined that they had not received it yet.

Hassanov noted that the Veterinary Service submitted the action plan on struggle with the virus to the government for consideration and approval.

The plan envisages some measures to carry out preventive work, particularly, conditions of announcement of quarantine, its territory, some organizing issues, as well as functions of separate state bodies in this case.
