10 thousands 321 money orders registered since the beginning of the year

Connection of the national post operator of Azerbaijan to the international electron money orders system (STEFI) with the assistance of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies is yielding its successful results.

According to the information given to APA from the press-service of the ministry, a sluice was installed in order for specialists of the Data Calculation Center (DCC) to connect to the STEFI system, program software was prepared in order for money orders entered to be decoded and encoding money orders sent to be encoded, operators to work and registration. This software was also tested and out into operation.

After application of the new electron money order system, the number of money orders sent from post branches of the “Azerpocht” State Enterprise increased 40 times. If only in Baku there were 254 money orders in August of 2001, 10321 money orders were registered in the respective period of 2005. Application of this project was possible only after formation of the computer network of “Azerpocht” SE covering the whole republic. All computers connected to this network operate in an online regime in the central server of DCC. The number of computers connected to this network reached 1500.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani post is successfully realize money order interchange with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan by means of the STEFI system at present. The electron money orders system of Azerbaijan was also highly valued by specialists of the Worldwide Post Union.
