The energy based project of Azerbaijani students presented at the Global Summit of Entrepreneurship in India did not go unnoticed by the chief adviser and representative of the President of the U.S. Ivanka Trump.

In her speech, Trump highly appreciated the invention of 15-year-old student Reyhan Jamalova, considering this achievement commendable.

Reyhan and her friend Zahra Gasimzade, creators of the project, are the pupils of the ninth grade of the experimental pilot classes of the lyceum Lyceum “Istek” named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

Together with physics teachers, they invented Rainergy equipment, which generates energy from rainwater. The equipment consists of four main parts: a rainwater collector, a water tank, an electric generator and a battery. The collector fills the reservoir with rainwater, after which water flows at high speed through the generator and generates energy. The generated energy accumulates in the accumulator, reduces the pressure on the power line and provides the communities in need with additional sources of electricity.

“I participated in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit as the youngest female entrepreneur. As our project is large-scale, Ivanka Trump particularly noted it in her speech,” Reyhan told Trend.

Speaking about the meeting with Ivanka Trump, Jamalova noted that the meeting lasted 2-3 minutes and Ivanka Trump praised and highly appreciated the project.

“Currently, there is a prototype device that lights 22 LED lamps, which means about 22 volts of energy, but this is a large-scale device in the energy sector. In order to assemble a full device we need an investment of $20,000. I noted this sum at the summit, where a lot of meetings with investors took place. This project has attracted interest from investors, in particular from the Indian ones, because rains often fall in India. They said that this is a small amount, and they can easily invest it,” Jamalova said.

She also noted that currently, they are holding discussions with foreign investors via e-mail, and hope that they will receive the amount necessary for the implementation of the project.

Commenting on the possibility of using the device in Azerbaijan, Jamalova noted that the device is not intended for Azerbaijan, but initial testing of the project can be carried out in the Lankaran-Astara region.

“The project is not intended for Azerbaijan, since the device is suitable for countries such as the Philippines, India and Indonesia, where monsoon rains occur, which is why our project is Azerbaijan's next contribution to the world's piggy bank of inventions,” she added.

Talking about new inventions Jamalova noted that now they are working on the Rainergy project, but in the future they are planning to work on other projects.

Commenting on her absence at the presentation of the project, Zahra Gasimzade noted that she could not take part due to the fact that only one person could participate from each team.

“We have been working together for eight months. Of these, four months, since April of this year, we have worked directly on this project. Then we turned the project into a start-up and prepared a business plan. And after that, we with Rainergy project took part in the contest "Climatelaunchpad - startups for green business", held in Azerbaijan for the first time. The final of the contest was grandiose. Our project was nominated in the "The most favorite startup of the audience in the Azerbaijani final of the contest” category,” she said.

“Our main goal is to turn Rainergy into one of the most famous companies in the world, of course, this will happen in the future, and now we are students of the ninth grade and should devote more time to our lessons,” said Gasimzade.

The project was also assessed by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Center for Patents and Trademarks signed an agreement with the young inventor.  The center will bear the costs of the relevant procedures, expertise and other legal acts.
