Currency exchange terminals to be installed in post centers of Azerbaijan

Payment terminal e-GovPay with a currency exchange function will be installed in the service centers of – Shabaka Azerpost next month.

The currency exchange terminals will function in the centers of Shabaka located in Yasamal, Khazar districts of Baku city, as well as in the General Post Office building.

It will be possible to pay through the terminal for utility and communication services, Internet, etc. The main advantage of the new terminals will be the functions of accepting coins and giving change.

The number of terminals will be increased as new centers of Shabaka are opened. In the near future, the centers of Shabaka will be opened in Sabunchu and Binagadi districts of Baku, as well as in Sumgayit.

By the autumn, e-GovPay payment terminals with currency exchange function will be installed in public places and in Baku's trading facilities, as well as in telecommunication nodes of state telecom operators, which is an alternative option that allows citizens to pay for communication services. As in accordance with the Law on Non-cash Payments, the operators themselves do not have the authority to accept payments.

Azerpost, the national post operator, was established in 1999 and received the status of national postal operator in 2004. The company mostly implements such important functions like offering quality and affordable postal, postal-financial and other services to support daily activities of the population.
