The 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, to be the second such experience for Baku, has turned into a popular sporting event not only for locals, but also for Russian tourists.

The analytical agency TurStat revealed that Russian tourists are highly interested in the F1 race scheduled for June 23-25 in Baku.

Sochi, Baku and Singapore are the most popular cities for trips of Russian fans of the Formula 1, the agency reported on April 12.

Monaco and Abu Dhabi are also included in Top 5 popular cities during Formula 1.

Last year, the Grand Prix of Formula 1 in Baku was visited by 2,000 Russian tourists, and each of the Grand Prix F1 in Singapore, Monaco and Abu Dhabi - less than a thousand Russian tourists, according to the TourStat.

The last year’s race in Baku confirmed the newest street circuit in F1 as the fastest of its kind, with a new F1 street circuit speed record set by Valtteri Bottas (recording an official speed of 366kph along the circuit’s main straight, later unofficially recorded as reaching an astonishing 378kph) while it also delivered the joint-fastest pit stop of all time by the Williams Martini Racing team (on Felipe Massa’s car), matching the existing Red Bull record of 1.92 seconds, previously set at the U.S. Grand Prix in 2013.

Unlike 2016, this year between June 23 and 25, the country joins the race with a different name, as Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku was renamed to the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan. Also, Baku City Circuit will surprise all guests with interesting series of concerts.

A variety of ticket options are on offer for the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, while the 4-day tickets include grandstand access to not only the three days of racing as well as all accompanying entertainment offerings but also to a special Pit Lane Walk on June 22.

Neighboring Russians choose Azerbaijan as their travel destination for many reasons. First of all the Land of Fire does not require visa for Russian tourists to enjoy the country.

Azerbaijan is also a perfect destination for Russian tourists, because of its people’s very friendly attitude towards Russia. Here Russian-speaking tourists have no problem with communication, as Azerbaijanis speak Russian well enough to help with any difficulties.
