Azerbaijan, G20 to mull global economic situation

Finance ministers and heads of central banks of G20 member states have gathered in Turkey’s Ankara city, Sept.4 to discuss the situation in the global economy, as well as the sustainable and balanced development strategy.

Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister Samir Sharifov will attend the two-day meeting at the invitation of Turkish side which chairs the G20 in 2015, said the message from Azerbaijani Finance Ministry.

The meeting participants will also discuss the investment and infrastructure issues, the international financial architecture, regulation of financial markets, international taxes and other issues.

The Group of Twenty (G20) is a leading forum for discussing global economic and financial cooperation. The G20 includes 20 largest national economies – Australia, Argentina, Brazil, UK, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the US, Turkey, France, South Korea, Republic of South Africa, Japan and the EU.

The abovementioned countries account for about 85 percent of the world GDP.
