Azerbaijan, China boost co-op in regulation of securities

Azerbaijan and China intend to expand cooperation in the field of regulation of securities and futures markets.

This was noted in a memorandum signed by Rufat Aslanli, the chairman of the State Securities Committee of Azerbaijan and Xiao Gang, the chairman of the China securities regulatory commission during the Azerbaijani delegation's visit to China.

The memorandum is aimed to ensure the investor protection and promote the integrity of securities and futures markets and other related investment instruments by expanding the scope of cooperation, strengthening the exchange of regulatory and technical information.

China was the first East Asian country to recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and to open an embassy in Baku in 1992. Azerbaijan and China permanently support each other on international organizations.

China is a huge opportunity and a priority market for Azerbaijan. Today, China is the largest producer in the world, while the EU - the largest consumer. So, Azerbaijan can become a bridge between them.
