
Around 13.7 billion kilowatts of electricity was generated in Azerbaijan in January-August 2013 which is 1.8 per cent lower than the same period of 2012, the country's State Statistics Committee told
on Friday.
According to the State Committee, around 12.64 billion kilowatt/h of the total volume of electricity generated in January-August fell to thermal power plants which is 0.9 per cent more than in January-August, 2012.
Azerbaijan's hydro power plants generated around 1.06 billion kilowatt/h of electricity in January-August, which is 25.8 per cent lower than in January-August, 2012.
Azerenergy JSC is engaged in the generation and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan.
