SOCAR to better one of its refineries

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) will repair a plant for the production of bitumen at the Azneftyag refinery, SOCAR said on Friday.

During the repair work, the oil-fired nozzle will be replaced by a gas-fired one which will reduce to a minimum the amount of harmful gases released into the atmosphere.

Repair work is scheduled for completion by the end of April.

SOCAR has two oil refineries on its balance sheet. One of them is the Heydar Aliyev refinery, focused on the production of light petroleum products and the second one - Azneftyag refinery deals with the production of dark petroleum products.
