Depositors of Azerbaijan SSR former Savings Bank get $622 mln

As of November 30, depositors of the Azerbaijani branch of former USSR Saving bank got lump-sum individual payments worth more than 480.4 million manat, Azerbaijani KapitalBank Deputy Chairman of Board Araz Aliyev told media today.

Kapital Bank has received 1.328.943 million applications during the reporting period. Payments have been already made on 1.220.253 million of these applications. They were paid more than 480.4 million manat.

"Payments on 49,223 appeals are also authorized, but investors have not yet applied for their lump sum," deputy chairman of the Kapital Bank.said.

Lump sum payments have been given since June 1 in 144 offices, 78 of which are located in regions of the country.

About 91 offices are in Kapital Bank branches, the rest - in specially created areas. A special e-map showing the location of these offices has been created on the website of the bank.

The process of obtaining the funds will end on December 31, 2013. The individual lump-sum payments to depositors of the Saving Bank of Azerbaijani SSR will cover 2.4 million Azerbaijani citizens, who are the owners of personal deposit accounts. According to the preliminary estimates of the Finance Ministry, funds amounting to about one billion manat will be required for these benefits.
