Azerbaijan keeps positive balance between opening of new businesses and closure of current ones.
State Statistics Committee reports that in January-June 2.585 new legal entities were registered in the country and 259 legal entities closed. Half a year growth of new businesses made 2.326 enterprises. In the second quarter it reached 1.263 businesses against 1.063 enterprises in the first quarter of 2012.
As of 1 July 2012 the country numbered 77.037 legal entities (+1,9% versus last year’s same term), 394.283 individual entrepreneurs ( their number rose by 13.043 entrepreneurs in the second quarter) and 850.000 family farmings.
At that small business formed the basis of legal entities- 61.248 small enterprises or 79,5% of total number of the country enterprises. Although private property was the leader in organizational legal forms of economic activity (60.589 businesses) , public (state and municipal) property form exceeded its official share in economy. By 1 July the country numbered 9.148 state (11.9% of all legal entities) and 1.756 municipal (2,3%) enterprises. Public property form considerably advanced volumes of foreign business attraction in the country. Thus, by 1 July the country numbered 4.157 foreign (5,4%) and 1.387 joint (1,8%) enterprises.
