Street advertising tariffs changed

During the meeting held on July 13, the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan has made changes in street advertising tariffs. In addition, the meeting made editor-character amends to some decisions of the Council.

Under the newly-adopted decision of the Council, in order to facilitate tariffs application in street advertising sphere and strengthen the control over this sphere, the number of ads broadcast categories has been declined from 17 to 5, the number of tariff zones - from 51 to 15 and application of some coefficients had been deleted.

According to Council’s decision, in order to extend street advertising (mobile or stationary) in Baku, the monthly charge for each square meter of space allocated for advertising on surface passages, bridges and overpasses, depending on the areas identified within AZN 16-24, on the edge of roads, squares, parks, gardens and street corners - AZN 12-20, on roofs, buildings, balloons and airships - AZN 8-16, in subways, bus stops, shopping centers in the pavilions, kiosks and petrol stations – AZN 6-8, on fences, and window boxes – AZN 4-6.

Rates for Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Shirvan, Khirdalan cities and Absheron district will be determined on the basis of the coefficient of 0.7 set for Baku, the coefficient of 0.5 for other regions. Tariffs for public service are defined on the basis of the ratio 0.1 to tariffs for the appropriate street signs.

New tariffs will come into force from August 1, 2012. The meeting also listened the report on the impact of recent changes (November 24, 2011), the rates for passenger traffic in the Baku subway to its financial and economic activity.
