ADB commences technical assistance to Azerbaijan

ADB commenced a technical assistance (TA) to help its member countries in Central Asia and South Caucasus, including Azerbaijan, ADB's Baku office said today.

The TA is to identify gaps between the national and ADB policies on involuntary resettlement, develop practical tools to prepare and execute land acquisition and resettlement plans.

On June 28, an ADB team lead by Jose Tiburcio Nicolas, Social Development Specialist met a technical advisory group established under MOF to work closely with the ADB team and a team of resettlement specialists recruited under the TA. The TA will be finished by February 2013.
