
Portugal will create the necessary conditions for Azerbaijani IT-companies to join the markets of Europe and Africa, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry said today.
The cooperation in this sphere was discussed during the meeting between Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov and Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Portas.
The importance and potential of the ICT sector, which plays an important role in the development of the relations between the two countries, were highlighted at the meeting.
The Portuguese minister added that cooperation in ICT will promote the development of bilateral relations.
"Azerbaijani IT-companies obtain the opportunities to join the markets in Europe, Africa and Brazil due to the fruitful cooperation," Portas added. "Portugal expects to gain access to the markets of the CIS and the Middle East through Azerbaijan."
Abbasov said that Azerbaijani companies are taking comprehensive measures for joining and investing in foreign markets. The Portuguese market is not exception in this regard.
