Tajikistan offers coop to Azerbaijan

Tajik Agriculture Minister Kosim Kosimov met with Azerbaijani ambassador to Tajikistan Abbasali Hasanov in Dushanbe. During the talks, the Tajik minister informed the Azerbaijani diplomat of the state of the country's agricultural sector, the ministry told Avesta. According to the source, the minister noted that during his visit to Baku to participate in FAO international conference he had met with Azerbaijani Agricultural Minister Ismet Abasov.

During this meeting both sides discussed a number of interesting proposals on establishing mutually beneficial relations in the agricultural sectors of both countries.

For example, if Azerbaijan is interested in improving breeding livestock, beekeeping and growing early and ecologically clean fruits and vegetables, Tajikistan is interested in scientific research in the field of seed production, especially cotton, grain and the experience of Azerbaijani colleagues in planting olive trees in the foothills and dry lands.

"The minister also proposed an exchange of researchers and students. For successful implementation of the plans he made a proposal to prepare and sign an agreement between the two ministries," the source concluded.
