WB to assess its activity in Azerbaijan

World Bank’s (WB) former and newly appointed regional directors on South Caucasus Asad Alam and Henry Kerali have today held a press conference.

WB’s regional director on South Caucasus Henry Kerali will assume office from the first day of July.
Former director told about the successful cooperation between WB and Azerbaijan and underlined several projects in various field financed by the bank.

The major aim of the activity is to bring international experience and innovation to Azerbaijan.
In turn, Kerali noted that the World Bank and Azerbaijan would further deepen cooperation in various fields.

“In the coming years, we will pay special attention to agriculture, improvement of living conditions of internally displaced persons, household waste management, health, transport, as well as the development of railway” said Kerali.

There also told that WB will evaluate its activity in Azerbaijan on October. The evaluation will be finished in October to define the gaps in the relevant fields.
