Memorial plaque to Witold Zglenicki unveiled in Poland

A memorial plaque to Witold Zglenicki who played an important role in the development of Azerbaijan`s oil industry at the end of 19th century unveiled at the initiative of Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Poland in the school named after Zglenicki. The plaque was unveiled in connection with the 540 years of establishment of Azerbaijan-Poland diplomatic relations, and 20th anniversary of restoration of these relations.

Attending the event Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Poland Hasan Hasanov spoke of relations between the two countries, and the Polish traces in history of Azerbaijan. He underlined that the secondary school named after Witold Zglenicki is a small mission of Azerbaijan to Poland.

Mayor of Serotsk city Silvester Sokolnitski underlined importance of friendly relations between the two countries, and spoke of Witold Zglenicki`s activity in Azerbaijan. Hasanov handed over an honors diploma and a badge to the student who successfully finished the school on the exact sciences.
