Hungary's trading house may appear in Azerbaijan

13 June 2012 [08:08] - TODAY.AZ
Hungarian Trading House will open this autumn in Baku, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Hungary Rose Nagy told Trend.

"It is necessary to help entrepreneurs - both ours here and Azerbaijani in Hungary. In this regard an effective step is to open a trading house in Baku," Nagy said.

She added that such an institution will provide support to the Hungarian enterprises, especially small, in the delivery of their products to Azerbaijan.

"In November last year, our president has visited Azerbaijan and announced plans to open a trading house in Hungary in Baku. We have worked in this direction, and I think it will be done in the autumn. Hungary plans to open 8 - 10 trading houses in the world, the first of these will begin work in Azerbaijan," Nagy said.

In addition, she said, Hungary is implementing a new program for the development of foreign trade, which suggests an expansion of trade relations especially in the east, including Azerbaijan.

"Today, the level of trade between countries is very low. Last year, trade totaled $74.6 million, most of which fell on exports from Hungary to Azerbaijan. It is necessary to work together to identify Azerbaijani products that can be put on the Hungarian market and further into the Europe," Nagy said.
