Traffic growth rates of SWIFT operations in Azerbaijan announced

The traffic growth rate of operations conducted by SWIFT in Azerbaijan exceeds the world average development rates. This was stressed at the meeting of the national user group SWIFT, held at the Azerbaijani Association of Banks, the association on Tuesday.

The head of the national group Emil Hajiyev, SWIFT Regional Director for the CIS, Russia and Mongolia Steven Palstermans, Director of Development Department and Standards Specialist Matvey Goering, Alliance Factors director on consulting and services Vyacheslav Shishkin, as well as representatives of local banks-members of the national team attended the meeting.

The issues of combating money laundering and financial crimes in general, managing SWIFT, new standards and a new certification system established by the organisation were discussed at the meeting. More than one hundred experts got new certificates.

A decision was made to hold another meeting within a month.

At present, SWIFT users consist of more than 10,000 organisations in 209 countries.
