Azerbaijan's non-oil sector provides over 52 percent of tax levies

In January-May 2012 the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan has provided receipt to the State budget of 2.58 billion manat of tax payments, the ministry said on Monday.

Proceeds on profit tax amounted to 41.3 per cent of total tax levies, on the value added tax - 22.9 per cent, income tax - 11.9 per cent, excise tax - 6.9 percent and other taxes - 17 percent.

Non-oil sector provided a receipt to the state budget of 1.35 billion manat, which is 13.6 percent higher compared to January-May last year.

In January-May 32,256 taxpayers passed the state registration. The number of individuals registered in an electronic form from July 1, 2011 to June 1, 2012 amounted to 30,082 people. The total number of taxpayers as of June 1 totaled 447,349 people.

During January-May 2012 the proportion of tax returns filed in electronic form, was 91.8 percent.
