Azerbaijan to join BSEC Foreign Ministers Council's meeting

Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev will represent the country at the forthcoming meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation to be held in Belgrade on June 11, Foreign Ministry's press service
said on Friday.

Foreign ministers of BSEC are expected to consider the results of elections for vacant positions in the Secretariat of the Organization, the prospects for cooperation within the organization.

The foreign ministers will also adopt a report on the results of the meeting.

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Organization is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 12 states of the Black Sea Coast and the Balkans. BSEC was founded on May 1, 1999 on the basis of the Treaty on the Black Sea Economic Cooperation on June 25, 1992. The headquarters of the organization is located in Istanbul. Member countries are Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The observer countries are Austria, Belarus, Germany, Egypt, Israel, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Tunisia, France, Croatia and the Czech Republic and four international organizations - Conference on European Energy Charter, the International Black Sea Club, the Union of Associations of motor carriers in the BSEC region, the Commission of the European Communities.
