German-Azerbaijani business forum in due Baku

The German delegation of the German-Azerbaijani business forum to be held June 11 in Baku will be headed by Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Committee of German Economy Eckhard Cordes, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) said on Thursday.

The business forum is organized by AZPROMO jointly with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Heads of 12 companies that operate in the petrochemical industry, oil refining, energy, engineering, health, transport, tourism and other sectors will attend the business forum from the German side.

According to State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany as of 2011 amounted to $1.37 billion, of which $845.29 accounted for imports of German goods.

AZPROMO was created by the Azerbaijani government in 2003. The supreme governing body of the Foundation is Board of Trustees composed of representatives from government, private sector and the international community.
