Cargo transportation tariffs lowered in Azerbaijan

The cargo transportation tariffs in the transport sector decreased by 2.1 percent in Azerbaijan in May compared to April, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.

According to the information, passenger transportation tariffs decreased by 0.6 percent in May.

Last month, the average tariffs for transportation of 10 tons of cargo per kilometer, exported from the country by railway decreased by 3.5 percent. The tariffs on goods imported into the country by railway, transit goods and cargo transported within the country increased respectively by 9.5, 4.3 and 0.7 percent.

The tariffs on transportation of passengers by railway to the CIS countries increased by 3.1 percent in April.

Transportation tariffs of one ton of cargo by air to the CIS countries decreased by 0.9 percent. The tariffs on passenger transportation by air to the countries of far abroad decreased by 1.8 percent and increased by 5.4 percent in the CIS countries.

The tariffs on oil and gas transportation via pipelines decreased by 2.8 and 0.1 percent respectively in May compared to April.
