EU committed to Southern Gas Corridor project

The EU remains committed to the Southern Gas Corridor and Azerbaijan is a reliable partner, energy adviser of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministry Angus Miller said in Baku today.

He said that reliability of Azerbaijan's partnership lies in its intention to ensure the supply of gas to Europe and to develop the relations in the field of energy.

"We will supply gas from the Shah Deniz field to Europe," he said.
"The commitment of European countries and Azerbaijan to the project is great."

The Southern Gas Corridor is a major energy project for the EU. It is intended to diversify routes and sources of supply. It is aimed at ensuring EU energy security.
