Matthew Bryza ppointed Turcas Corporate Governance Committee chairman

Matthew Bryza has been appointed chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee of Turkish fuel distribution company Turcas, the company's official website reports on Thursday.

Turcas and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) were parties to the joint venture - Petkim petrochemical complex. Then SOCAR bought shares of Turcas, becoming full owner of Petkim.

Earlier, SOCAR-Turcas started construction of new oil refinery Star in Turkey, which aims to meet Petkim complex's needs in raw materials.

Matthew Bryza's terms of mission as U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan ended in late December 2011.

Bryza previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State. He was appointed as ambassador to Azerbaijan by President Barack Obama's order in December 2010.
