Azerbaijan set rules for livestock breeding certification

By Order #03Q Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov of Azerbaijan approved the Rules of certification of livestock breeding farms and their types.

Under the Rules, the certifying commission of 5 people is being formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and certificate is given as a result of certification. The Commission conducts certification, defines the type of farms. Certification is carried out within 15.

At that, farms on livestock breeding of dairy cattle must have at least 80% of heads of elite-record and record cattle species, beef cattle - not less than 70% of heads of purebred breeds, 50% of elite-record and record rocks.

Special requirements are also set for pig breeding, horse breeding, poultry farming, sheep breeding and beekeeping. At that, it was also established the minimum number of cattle - 50 heads, 20,000 birds and 150 bee colonies. To pass the certification it is needed to provide information on activities for 3 years. Complaints may be made in writing and electronic form. Certification is conducted every 5 years.
