SOCAR to commission new gas facility

In the coming days, a gas compressor station on the Gunashli-4 will offshore platform be adopted by the state commission, SOCAR said on Friday.

According to the report, the construction of the station has been completed and currently its final test operation is being implemented. A new gas compressor station is designed to collect and transport associated gas to the land, which will minimize its emissions to the atmosphere. SOCAR will be able to carry out a full collection of associated gas of low pressure in the shallow part of the field Guneshli due to the station. This gas, after boosting (increasing pressure) will be sent to the land.

Capacity of the new station is four million cubic meters per day. Guneshli field is on the balance of the Oil and Gas Management May 28. The shallow part of Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep portion of the block which is a part of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli - together with a consortium of foreign companies.
