SOCAR builds new gas turbine power plant

For a continuous energy supply of oilfield facilities of Neft Daslari (Oil Rocks) and Guneshli field construction of a new gas turbine power plant has begun, Azneft production association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said on Monday.

For the construction of power station SOCAR Research Design Institute "Oil and Gas" prepared project documentation.

According to the schedule of construction, until May 15 it's necessary to ram in piles, erect girders, complete the concrete work, set up concrete slab and carry out other hydraulic works, and before June 1 it's necessary to complete the creation of concrete blade thickness of 100 millimeters, the installation of rails, etc.

In accordance with the project, of 406 piles to ram in, in 2007-2008 126 were rammed in. Of the 323 new piles with the size of 530x12 mm 219 have already been rammed in, while of the 48 piles with the size of 426x11mm - 36 piles. Of 310 piles with size of 530x12 mm 251 have already been concreted. Of the 48 anchor piles with the size of 426x11 mm, which are necessary to be filled with cement mortar, 29 piles were filled.

Under the project before June 10 it's also planned to complete delivery of turbines and generators, and auxiliary equipment delivery - up to June 25.

"For the timely commissioning of the facility work continues according to schedule," the message said.
