`Azerbaijan trade unions confederation is 'trustworthy'

“Azerbaijan trade unions confederation (ATUC) is authoritative and trustworthy organization,” said Secretary General of General Trade Unions Confederation Vladimir Sherbakov during the meeting with ATUC`s leadership in Baku.

The Secretary General praised ATUC`s activity and rapid development of socio-economic sphere of Azerbaijan. Mr. Sherbakov hailed a meeting of the executive committee of the General Trade Unions Confederation held in Azerbaijan in 2010. Mr. Sherbakov reminded the participants that in accordance with decision of the executive committee, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was awarded with an honorary golden badge “For contribution to the trade union movement.”

The Secretary General underlined that one of the main factors is close relations of the trade unions with the parliaments and participation in the legislative processes. Mr. Sherbakov stressed an important contribution of the ATUC chairman, MP Sattar Mehbaliyev to development of the trade unions movement of Azerbaijan and the CIS states.
