Damage worth over $1 million reimbursed to state

Funds worth $1.07 million manat were transferred to the bank and cash accounts to cover damage caused to Azerbaijan in 2011, head of the Azerbaijani Accounting Chamber Heydar Asadov said today, while presenting a report as of 2011 to Parliament.

"In 2009 the Accounting Chamber conducted 31 supervisory activities, in 2010 this number increased to 4 and in reporting 2011, up to 46," he said. Moreover, the Chamber diversified the directions of its checks.

"Not only educational, health and cultural facilities were audited in 2011," he said. "The energy complexes and some secret areas were audited for effectiveness."
