European banks interested in IBA

European banks-partners of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) are interested in further cooperation with it in 2012 as well.

The Bank’s press service reports that a few days ago the IBA reps held a meeting with more than 10 European banks, among which are such banks as Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, DZ Bank, BayernLB and others.

Within the meeting European banks’ reps appreciated high the level of collaboration with the IBA in 2011 and expressed an interest in continuing this cooperation in 2012.

The IBA reps, in turn, briefed the partners on key financial indicators of the Bank and strategic plans for the future.

The IBA was founded in January 1992 and is the largest bank in the country. Its main shareholder is the Government of Azerbaijan, which owns 50.2 percent of the shares, while 49.8 percent are owned by private individuals and legal entities.
