Azerbaijan's GDP increased by 0.5 percent in current prices amounted to 8 billion manat in January-February 2012, State Committee on Statistics of the country said on Wednesday.
Non-oil sector increased by 7.1 percent amounting to 3.4 billion manat or 42.6 percent of GDP for two months in 2012.
At the same time the production of value added in producing and processing of oil and gas decreased by 4.5 percent.
At the same time, there is significant growth in other sectors of the economy. In the areas of tourist accommodation and catering value added in real terms increase by 17.7 percent, information and communication - by 14.1 percent, trade and repair services for motor vehicles - 9 percent, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - by 2.8 percent, transport and warehousing - 1.6 percent.
During January-February 2012, 60.5 per cent of GDP accounts to industry, 2.5 percent -agriculture, forestry and fishing, 5 percent - construction, 6.9 percent - trade and repair services for motor vehicles, 5 percent - transport and storage, 1.3 percent - the scope of tourist accommodation and catering, 1.6 percent - communications and information services, 11.3 percent - social and other services.
