Inflation hits 0.1 percent in Azerbaijan

In February, consumer prices and tariffs for services in Azerbaijan increased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous month, the State Statistics Committee's report said on Wednesday. During February, food prices rose by 0.1 percent, industrial goods - remained unchanged.

During the month there was an increase in prices on food products such as rice, lamb, sausages, fresh fish, pasteurized milk, cheese, margarine, bananas, apples, pears, quinces, pomegranates, chestnuts, cabbage, walnuts and hazelnuts, fresh herbs.

The price on such foods as buckwheat, corn, beef and chicken, fresh milk, eggs, olive oil and sunflower oil, lemons, oranges, beets, carrots, garlic, onions and potatoes cheapened.

The increase in tariffs for air transportation of passengers on international flights and CIS countries may be stressed among paid services rendered to the population.
