Korea to issue soft loan for Azerbaijan's sewerage system - PHOTOS

The Korean government plans to provide a soft loan amounted to $43.5 million for the project of reconstruction of water supply and sewerage network in Azerbaijan, said in a statement of Azersu (national water operator) on Tuesday.

The Korean government intends to continue supporting the reconstruction projects of water supply and sanitation, Environmental Specialist in the Export-Import Bank of Korea Jong Soo Yoon said at a meeting in the Azersu on Tuesday. Means of the loan are intended to build a water cleaning plant Pirshagi.

The loan will be allocated for 40 years with a grace period of 10 years at an interest rate of 0.2 percent per annum. The total project cost is $ 60 million, the rest will be financed by the Government of Azerbaijan.

The project aims to improve the sewerage system in the Pirshagi village. The project will build facilities for wastewater treatment with capacity of 40,000 cubic meters per day. Wastewater treatment plant built with the most advanced technology., and the water will be used for irrigation.

Reconstruction of sewerage system and water supply in the village Kurdakhani is implemented through the loan of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The Korean government provided a grant of $ 26.18 million in accordance with the agreement signed between Azersu and KOICA on October 14, 2011.

Due to the selected Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) grant is a project of reconstruction of sewerage system and water supply in the village Kurdakhani. On the basis of the signed October 14, 2011 between the "Azersu" and KOICA agreement, the Korean government provided a grant of $ 26.18 million. Two reservoirs, pumping stations, water supply system with length of 24.8 kilometers and the sewer line with length of 24.8 kilometers will be built in Kurdakhani through the grant.
