Azerbaijan Railways passes to cashless system

27 February 2012 [19:27] - TODAY.AZ
The Baku railway station will start selling passenger tickets through POS-terminals from March 1, spokesman for "Azerbaijan Railways" Nadir Azmammadov told Trend today.

He said that it is possible to use plastic cards to purchase the tickets at the railway station in Baku.

"The payment will be transferred to non-cash payment at all major railway stations in the country," he said. "The rest stations will be gradually covered."

He said that the preparation for the electronic payments at the station has been completed. POS-terminals have been installed at the box offices. The work was conducted to master the technological non-cash process.
