Number of Bakcell subscribers ups

The revenue growth of the Azerbaijani Bakcell mobile operator has reached five percent in 2011, CEO company Richard Shearer told press on Tuesday.

Last year was devoted to network construction and increasing service quality, he added. The number of base stations in the Bakcell network has reached 2060 units.

Today, the company's network covers more than 99 percent of thepopulation and 92 percent of the state's territory.

Bakcell's share on the mobile market is 35 percent. The number of active subscribers exceeds 2.6 million. The total number of registered phone numbers is 3 million.

The company also offers mobile Internet, which reaches a speed of 28 Mbit/s in 62 cities. It also has 1 million 3G subscribers.
