Azerbaijan’s mobile phone market grows

In 2011, over 148,480 mobile handsets worth more than $8630.5 have been delivered to Azerbaijan, the State Statistical Committee reported. The imported mobile handsets grew by 32.9 percent in quantity and by 16.5 percent in value compared with 2010, the committee reported. The average monthly imports into the country exceed 12,000 handsets. Monthly volume of the mobile phone market is over $700,000 in value.
