Baku 2015: One more Azerbaijani boxer reaches semi-finals

Azerbaijani athlete Xaybula Musalov competing in the men’s 75 kg (middle weight) boxing at the Baku 2015 European Games, reached the event’s semi-finals on June 24.

In the quarterfinals, Musalov defeated Vitali Bondarenko of Belarus.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani female boxer, Yana Alekseeva, reached the 60 kg women’s boxing event semi-finals.

In the quarterfinals, Alekseeva was stronger than Zinaida Dobrynina from Russia.

The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe are representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
