Additional sections are not planned to be installed at the closing ceremony of the first European Games to be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium on June 28.
This was announced by Azad Rahimov, Youth and Sports Minister, at a press conference on June 17.
He said that the Baku Olympic Stadium holds 68,000 people, noting that there are sections designed for athletes, some for media, and some for officials.
The minister also noted the great interest of spectators to the competition of the inaugural Games.
The breathtaking opening ceremony at the National Olympic Stadium on June 12 captivated the whole Azerbaijan and was broadcasted around the world. The show was sold out days before the ceremony. Now, the same excitement is expected in connection with the closing ceremony, which is sold out already!
Earlier, the Baku 2015 European Games Organizing Committee reported that in total over 420,000 tickets for the Games have been sold plus additional tickets.
Tickets for Baku 2015 can be purchased directly from 11 conveniently located ticket outlets around Baku, including Park Bulvar, 28 Mall, and Metro Park Baku, and online atwww.baku2015.com/tickets.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku on June 12, will last until June 28.
The innovative event has gathered more than 6,000 athletes from across Europe to compete in 20 sports: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
