The First European Games in Baku are organized at the high level, Enrico Della Casa, Secretary General of European Cycling Union said at the press conference in Baku on June 17.
He stressed very warm welcome of the population and always friendly approach of all the volunteers.
Della Casa said that he believes that the upcoming race to be held on June 20-21 will be very great event, adding that the BMX track at the velopark meet Olympic standards.
“Organization Committee built very nice BMX track at the velopark and we also expect great athletes at the BMX,” he said.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
