British fan George Deane who is in Baku for the European Games, says the opening of the Games was the best of the openings that he has ever seen.
In an interview with Trend on June 14, Deane said he was also present at the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Deane said comparing the two openings is very difficult, adding that both of the cities did their own shows, presenting their culture and traditions, but the opening of the European Games in Baku, is certainly the best of the ones he has seen.
Deane also said he arrived in Baku to support the British athletes and at the same time get to know the culture of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan, as the Brit says, is a very interesting country.
Deane added that he wanted to visit Azerbaijan for a long time, and now he has got a good reason to do so, thanks to the European Games.
He also said that everything in Baku is organized at a high level, and the sports facilities are very comfortable in all respects.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
