High officials arrive in Baku

Azerbaijan’s capital Baku welcomes high-ranking officials who arrived in the country to be a part of the historic event, Baku 2015 European Games.

The extraordinary event is expected to be attended by the world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon and President of Montenegro.

So far, Azerbaijan embraced International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, chairman of the House of Deputies of the Czech Republic Jan Hamacek, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Musaad bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivani?, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic, former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers.

Baku also welcomed State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain for Relations with Parliament Tobias Ellwood, Second President of the Austrian Parliament Karlheinz Kopf, President of the Swiss Council of States Filippo Lombardi, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Minister of State for Youth Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah, chairman of the House of Deputies of the Czech Republic Jan Hamacek, Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, Oman Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed Al Mardouf Al Saadi, Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino Andrea Belluzzi and Roberto Venturini, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Tayirbek Sarpashev, and others.

The guests are continuing to arrive.

Azerbaijan is opening the inaugural European Games on June 12. The Games attracted over 6,000 athletes to compete in 20 sports.
