Azerbaijani deputy speaker to observe European Games directly from arenas

Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Bahar Muradova will observe the European Games in Baku together with her family members.Muradova told Trend that she will observe some competitions directly from the sports arenas, adding that she will also be present at the opening and the closing ceremonies of the Games.While talking about the kind of the competition to be observed with family members, Muradova said that the issue will be jointly resolved."We have not made up our mind about the kind of the competition we will visit,” she said. “Actually, I am interested in women's volleyball very much. I will try to watch the competitions directly from the sports arena. At least, I will try to watch the competitions on TV."Muradova said that first and foremost, she will support Azerbaijan and the athletes representing the country.Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
